Frank Ilaboya lauds late Shuaibu Amodu, calls him a perfect model for players and coaches

The Chairman of Edo state’s Football Association, Frank Ilaboya, has extolled former coach of the Super Eagles, Shuaibu Amodu as a ‘rare and gifted man’ who gave his all to his country.

He made this known at the memorial lecture organised by the Football Association at the media center of Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City to commemorate the death of Shuaibu Amodu, one year after.

The lecture titled ‘Life and times of Shuaibu Amodu’ was delivered by veteran coach Alabi Aisien and had in attendance numerous sports administrators and ex-internationals.

In an interview with Bloomshire, Frank Ilaboya said “Amodu Shuaibu was a hardworking man who made lots of exploits as a coach. His tough and strong character put him ahead of his peers. He is a perfect model for all Sports coaches and managers in the country. It was therefore imperative for us to honour and remember him. He was a rare and gifted man”.

Other guests took turns to shower praises on the late coach, while also urging the government to improve its welfare package for managers.
