The chairman of Edo state’s Football Association, Frank Ilaboya, has promised that the association, under his watch, would put in place measures that would improve the social and financial well-being of players and coaches in the state.
He made this known at the Memorial Lecture held in honor of late former Super Eagles coach, Shuaibu Amodu, at the Media Center of Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City.
“There are concerted efforts to improve the social and financial wellbeing of the players and coaches in Edo State”, said Ilaboya in an interview with Bloomshire.
“Players have union that was initiated to enumerate the necessary package that will assist the players to be financially stable. Soon, coaches and players in Edo State will have financial package to improve their welfare”, he concluded.
The memorial lecture titled ‘Life and Times of Shuaibu Amodu’ was attended by lots of ex-internationals and sports administrators who attested to the exemplary life of the coach who passed away in Benin City at the age of 58.
